Karaliok, Tserakh, Shynkarenka - Winners of the Second Day of Belarus Track Cycling Championship
Belarus Open Track Cycling Championships in non-Olympic events continued on Wednesday at Minsk Arena.
In the morning there were scratch races. Among women, the victory was won by the representative of Mogilev region and Minsk Cycling Club, Kseniya Shynkarenka. She broke away 17 laps before the finish and was able to hold on to the victory. Hanna Tserakh won silver, Karalina Biruk won bronze.
The men began to attack from the very first round, but only Yauheni Karaliok and Dzianis Mazur broke away successfully. They were ahead of the group by a lap, and in the finishing sprint Karaliok was faster. Raman Tsishkou won the bronze medal.
In the afternoon there were elimination races. After two silver medals, the first gold of the championship was won by Hanna Tserakh, in the fight for which the leader of the women's team of Minsk Cycling Club was ahead of her teammates - Iryna Chuyankova and Alina Abramenka.
In the men's competition, Yauheni Karaliok again excelled. The representative of Grodno region and Minsk Cycling club climbed to the top step of the podium, where he was accompanied by the Russian Mamyr Stash and Raman Ramanau from Gomel region.
Also on Wednesday, sprint races were held within the Open Republican Competitions. Artsiom Zaitseau celebrated the victory among men. Nikita Kiriltsev won silver, Aliaksandr Hlova won bronze. Among women, Varvara Basiakova, Aryna Staravoitava and Margarita Kolodeyuk made it to the podium.
